We buy the electricity you have produced and fed back into the ewz distribution grid. As of 1 January 2026, the remuneration comprises the following, subject to approval by the City Parliament:
You get more for your solar power when you sell your solar power's added environmental value to ewz as a guarantee of origin (GO).
As soon as the system is registered with Pronovo, the remuneration will be 3 centimes/kWh (excl. VAT).
The prerequisite is that the solar power installation system feeds the electricity into the ewz distribution grid in accordance with the Ordinance on the Feed-In and Remuneration of Electricity (also applies to ewz.solarsplit systems and ZEV solutions).
Register your system in the Swiss guarantee of origin system. You can find out how below.
Once the check has been successful, your system will be activated for issuing GOs.
We will contact you by e-mail and set up a standing order for you.
Pronovo will now send you a separate e-mail with the title ‘A standing order has been created’. Confirm the activation link for the standing order within 32 days. We will then link your system.
After your confirmation, we will link your system to the new remuneration rate. The standing order starts retroactively as of the first day of the current month.
For existing solar installations, ewz will handle registration in the GO system in 2026 and activate any missing standing orders. This ensures you receive the GO remuneration of 3.0 Rp/kWh even if there are gaps in the process. ewz regularly checks new installations and activates them retrospectively where necessary. ewz passes on the environmental benefits to customers via ewz.pronatur.
Pronovo is the accredited certification body for the registration of guarantees of origin and the implementation of federal funding programmes for renewable energies.
If you make use of the national one-off rate (KLEIV, GREIV): this application is also made via Pronovo and will be linked to the system registration.
Note: for systems of 100 kW or more, an SAS-accredited auditor must be involved.
You can also find more information directly at Pronovo.
