ewz.flex.solar makes your PV installation part of the virtual ewz.flex power plant. This allows you to profit from the flexibility of your PV installation on the control energy market. At the same time, you’ll be contributing to the stability of the Swiss electricity system. You receive remuneration for the flexibility you provide.

ewz checks the requirements and connects your PV installation to the virtual power plant ewz.flex. ewz handles the technical connection, marketing and billing.
Your PV installation responds as needed
The electricity grid must be balanced at all times. That means the feed-in of your PV installation may be reduced for short periods if necessary. Your installation makes this flexibility available to the electricity grid.
You receive remuneration
You receive remuneration for the flexibility you provide. ewz ensures that you generate higher income than you would from self-consumption or pure electricity feed-in.
For the Swiss electricity grid to remain stable, electricity production and consumption must be balanced at all times. So if necessary, Swissgrid will request control energy (what is control energy?). In this case, the feed-in of your PV installation is automatically reduced for a short period of time. After that, your plant produces electricity again as usual.
- Marketing
Your PV installation is part of the virtual power plant ewz.flex. The flexibility it provides is marketed on the control energy market and is ready for use. - Draw-down by Swissgrid
If the Swiss electricity grid requires control energy in the short term, Swissgrid will request the required flexibility. - Automatic restriction
The feed-in of your PV installation is automatically reduced. A draw-down usually takes between 15 and 45 minutes. - Return to normal operation
After use, your PV installation will automatically produce electricity as usual. - Remuneration
You will receive remuneration in line with the market revenues generated for the flexibility provided.

Your PV installation must have a compatible monitoring unit, e.g. Solar-Log with MOD I/O or a comparable system.
